Agra falls in the semi arid zone. Summers here are from March to September and are very hot and humid with the mercury rising upto 49 °C during day time. But summer nights are relatively comfortable with temperature around 30 Degree Celsius.


Agra doesn’t generally witness heavy monsoons though it starts by the end of July. The chilly winters here starts in November and lasts till January end. During winters the temperature drops down to – 2 degree Celsius to -4 degree Celsius. The best time to visit the city is either the autumn season October to November. Winter days are also pleasant and sunny.


How To Reach

By Road:

Agra is 184 kms South to Delhi and takes 2:25 hrs by road. Lucknow is 259 kms East to Agra (approx. 5 hours by road). The major bus stands in Agra are Idgah Bus Stand, Taj Depot, Ford depot and Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT). These bus terminals connect Agra to many major cities of north India. With the beginning of the Yamuna Expressway, another dimension has been added to road travelling to Agra. 

By Air:

There is only an Air Force Station located about 12 km from the city of Agra. No commercial airlines operate from here as of now. The nearest airport to Agra is Delhi which is 184 kms from here.

By Rail:

Agra has two main railway stations- Agra Cantt. and Agra Fort Railway. They connect all main cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Bangalore etc with Agra. Nearly 20 trains run from Agra to New Delhi every day. Luxury trains are also available for tourists who visit Agra.
