Bekal falls under a temperate climate. Summers (March to May) are very hot and humid with temperature touching 36 degree Celsius. Monsoons (June to August) are characterized by heavy rains. The second onset of Monsoon, the North-East monsoon occurs in October with moderate rainfall. Winters (December to February) are cool and dry. Winter days are pleasant and sunny while nights are cool with temperatures around 20 degree Celsius. The best time to visit Bekal is from September to February.

By Road:

Bekal is connected to the nearest towns like Kanhangad and Kasargod through public and private transportations. Both Kanhangad and Kasargod are well connected with the rest of Kerala as well as Mangalore and Bengaluru.


By Air:

Mangalore or Mangalapuram is the nearest airport to Bekal at a distance of 67 kms from here. Mangalore is well connected to other Indian cities, especially Chennai, Bengaluru and Mumbai. The nearest international airport is Karipur (Kozhikode), which is 180 km away from Bekal. 



By Rail:

The nearest railway stations to Bekal are Kasargod and Kanhangad. Both are located at about 12 km from Bekal.
