Gandhinagar experiences a typical sub topical climate with harsh summers and moderate winter season. The summer months from March to June are warm and sticky with maximum temperature reaching close to 42 degrees Celsius. The dry summer heat makes way for the rainy monsoon season from July extending up to September. Regular cabs and bus services are available from Ahmedabad (27 Kms), Indore (558 Kms) and Pune (695 Kms) to reach Ahmedabad.

By Air:

Gandhinagar does not have a dedicated airport with the closest airport located in the city of Ahmedabad at a distance of 26 Kms. The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel airport in Ahmedabad is an international airport offering good connectivity from all domestic and international routes. The airport receives regular flights from Europe, UK, USA, Cananda and Australia. Local cabs and buses are freely available at the Ahmedabad airport to reach Gandhinagar.

By Rail:

Gandhinagar has a dedicated railway station albeit offering limited connectivity. The railway station at Ahmedabad at a distance of 27 Kms from Gandhinagar is the bigger railway junction offering good connectivity from all parts of India with regular train service. Ahmedabad has frequent trains to all local destinations like Rajkot, Okha, Gandhidham within Gujarat and Mumbai, New Delhi and Jammu pan India.
