Gavi has a cool and pleasant climate through out the year. Summers at Gavi (March to May) are warm with temperature not rising more than 25 degree Celsius. Monsoons (June to Sepetember) are characterized by medium to heavy rain fall. Days and nights are cool during monsoon with temperature ranging within 15 to 20degree Celsius.  Winters here stretches from December to February and are cold with minimum temperature around 10 degree Celsius.

How To Reach

By Road:

From Kochi International Airport, Gavi can be reached via, Kottayam-Kanjirappally-Vandiperiyar-Kumily. It takes about 3.5 hours from Kochi to reach Gavi.  Gavi is 28 km from Vandiperiyar which is on NH 220 the highway and is connected with Kollam and Madurai and Thekkady. Jeep ride is the best way to explore Gavi. Several government and privately operating buses run from Vaniperiyar to Kochi and Thiruvavanthapuram.

By Air:

The nearest airport to Gavi is Kochi International Airport, Nedumbassery which is 190 kms from here. Madurai Airport (in Tamilnadu) is 140 kms from Gavi. 

By Rail:

Gavi is not directly accessible by rail. The nearest railway head is Kottayam which is 114 kms from Gavi and is well connected to Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and all the major cities of South India.
