Gokarna experiences a semi tropical and moderate climate. Summers (March to May) are sunny and humid with temperature ranging between 18°C to 40°C. Winter in Gokarna starts in November and lasts till January and temperature varies between 14°C to 32°C. Monsoon is characterized by heavy rainfalls. Monsoons in Gokarna start from June and lasts till August. The best season to visit Gokarna is October to March, avoiding monsoon and peak summer.

By Road:

Gokarna is connected with about Bangalore Mangalore and Karwar by NH-17. Goa is only 135 kms North to Gokarna. Gokarna is also well connected with Kumta, Bangalore, Hampi and Mysore by road. Buses owned by Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation and many private buses connect these places. 

By Air:

The nearest airports are Goa (155 kms), Mangalore International Airport (240 km) and Bangalore (453 kms). All these are well connected to major cities in the world. 

By Rail:

Gokarna can be reached by train via Konkan Railway on the Mumbai-Mangalore route. The railway station at Gokarna Road is only 6 km away from the town.
