Ranikhet experiences typical sub tropical climatic conditions making it pleasant in summers and cold in winter months. The summer season from April to June attracts a lot of tourists from the plains seeking respite from the harsh Indian summers. The popular hill city of Nainital lies at a distance of 63 Kms from Ranikhet. Regular cab and bus services ply between major nearby cities including New Delhi (336 Km), Haldwani and Almora (47 Kms).

By Air:

Ranikhet does not have a dedicated airport facility and the airport in Pantnagar is the nearest Airport situated at a distance of 115kms. The Pantnagar Airport is well connected to Delhi with daily flights. Bus and cabs are easily available from Pantnagar Airport to reach Ranikhet.

By Rail:

Ranikhet does not have a railway station due to its location in the hilly terrain. The nearest railway station is the one located in Kathgodam at a distance of 88 Kms from Ranikhet city center. Kathgodam railway station is known as the gateway of the Kumaon region and connects the region with all major parts of India on a regular basis. Regular train services from New Delhi reach Kathgodam offering an easy transit point for the tourists.
