Digha Beach:

The sandy Digha beach is one of the most well known tourist attractions in Digha. The beach offers prince tine sand and hoards of fishermen offering food stalls and benches ideal for tourists. The beach is one of the most well known beaches in India and offers calmness of the massive sea waves crashing against the lovely shore line. Digha beach is most popular beach resort of west Bengal for a quiet holiday with several places of interest in its vicinity.

 

New Digha:

New Digha is the newer section of the town with the beach that attracts a large number of tourists. Famous as an ideal holiday hotspot, New Digha offers good accommodation options for the visitors.  Apart from the beach, a very new addition to the list of attractions is the Science Centre that was founded by the National Council of Science Museums. Deepak Mitra’s Snake Farm is another famous holiday hotspot in New Digha attracting a vast influx of travelers and tourists.

 

Talasari:

Talasari is a small delta located at a distance of 6 Kms from Digha city center. Located near the Orissa Bengal border, Talasari beach is a less crowded isolated beach offering calm and peaceful shoreline making it a great tourist hangout in Digha.

 

Chandaneshwar:

The famous Shiva temple at Chandaneshwar is one of the most popular religious shrines in Digha. The temple attracts a large number of tourists and pilgrims during the annual Gajan Festival celebrated at the end of the Hindu month of Chaitra. Located at a distance of 8 Kms from Digha city center, Chandaneshwar temple offers unmatched spiritual quotient and is one of the prime hotspots in Digha.

 

Subarnarekha River:

Subarnarekha River is a popular tourist attraction located at a distance of 12 Kms from Digha city center. A long beach along the Udaypur village leads to the meeting point of Subarnarekha River and the sea making it an ideal tourist destination. This rare confluence of sea and river merging in the vicinity of an inhabited shore line makes it one of the most popular tourist hangouts.

 

Marine Aquarium and Research Center:

Marine Aquarium and Research Centre offers a rare insight into the exquisite marine life of the Bay of Bengal region making it an ideal hotspot for tourists and science enthusiasts. The aquarium believed to be one of the largest in India has a state of the art filtration unit and sea water circulation system. The aquarium has eight fresh water tanks and twenty-four big marine tanks which come with regulated supply of inflow and outflow of water, compressed air supply and light. The marine aquarium is open for tourists between 9:30 am – 6:00 pm on all working days.

 

Shankarpur: 

This virgin beach is a twin beach of Digha, located at about 14 km on the Digha-Contai Road. A recently developed sea resort, it offers great escapes of a private beach with casuarina plantations. With a warm climate round the year, this unspoilt tree-lined beach is a favorite haunting place for honeymooners.
