Akshardham Temple:

Akshardham Temple also known as the Swaminarayan Temple is one of the most popular religious attractions in Gandhinagar. Constructed by Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha, the temple was open for public in the year 1992. Located at a distance of 2 Kms from Gandhinagar city center, the Akshardham Temple dedicated to Lord Swaminarayan has over 100 pillars, balconies, a podium and around 17 domes. The temple attracts a large number of tourists and pilgrims all through the year.


Sabarmati Ashram:

Sabarmati Ashram also known as Satyagraha Ashram is one of the most popular landmarks of Gandhinagar. Famous for being the residence of Mahatma Gandhi from 1915 to 1933, the ashram has been converted into a museum displaying rare artifacts related to the life and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi. The ashram museum houses the work desk and charkha used by the Mahatma and attracts a large number of tourists and historians alike.



Constructed by Queen Rudabai in 1499, the Adalaj is a famous well attracting a large number of tourists. Located at a distance of 20 Kms from Gandhinagar city center, the well also commonly known as Adalaj ni vav is a four level well featuring wonderful carvings depicted animals, flows and various Gods and Goddesses epitomizing the great Hindu culture and art.


Indroda Nature Park:

Indroda Nature Park located in the vicinity of Sarita Udhyan is a famous wildlife hotspot attracting a large number of tourists. Established by the Geological Survey of India (GSI) and managed by the Gujarat Ecological and Research Foundation (GEER), the park is also known as Indroda Dinosaur Fossil Park. Located in Indora village, the park houses rare species of deer, hare and wild boars. The park also has a dedicated section housing eggs and fossils of dinosaurs including Titanosaurus and Stegosaurus


Sarita Udhyan:  

Sarita Udhyan is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Gandhinagar. Located on the banks of the Sabarmati River, the gardens feature a wide range of exquisite flora and fauns including a dedicated deer park. Sarita Udhyan attracts a large number of children and is one of the famous picnic hotspots in the city.


Craftsmen's Village:

Craftsmen's Village is an art lover’s delight and is a dedicated village housing various skilled artists and handicrafts epitomizing the ancient crafts of Gujarat. Located at a distance of 7 kms from Gandhinagar city center, the village is famous for Wooden printing blocks and Bandhini Saris.


Rani Roopmatis Mosque:

Rani Roopmati's Mosque is an ancient mosque built in memory of the wife of the erstwhile ruler Mehmud Beghara in the 14th century. Known for its splendid architecture and carved galleries, the mosque is a perfect blend of Hindu and Muslim architectural styles with three huge domes placed on strategic pillars. The mosque attracts a large number of historians and tourists alike and is a popular site for photography enthusiasts.


Hathee Singh Jain Temple:

Hathee Singh Jain temple is an ancient temple built in the 1850 A.D and one of the most important religious hotspots of Gandhinagar. Named after Seth Hathee Singh, an old Jain trader, the temple is dedicated to the 15th Jain Trithanakara, Dharmnath. Built in pure white marble the temple is famous for its splendid architecture with a dome and lavish galleries. The central hall of the temple has 52 cloisters with each shrine having an idol of the Tirthankara, making it one of the most beautiful temples in the region.


Tithal Beach:

Tithal Beach located at a distance of 4 Kms from Gandhinagar city center is a flat sandy beach attracting a large number of tourists. Famous for its Shirdi Sai Baba temple and Swaminarayan temple the beach attracts a huge influx of religious pilgrims.


Gujarat Science City:

Gujarat Science city spread over a 107 acre campus is one of the most well known institutions in Gandhinagar. Famous for showcasing working models, activity corner, contemporary exhibits and live demonstrations, Gujarat Science city is a hub for promoting science amongst the local population and children. Located on the Sarkhej Gandhinagar highway the science city has dedicated sections for Hall of Space and Hall of Science apart from various eateries and joy rides including a life sciences park and an energy park.
