Aru:

Aru is a popular tourist report attracting a large number of tourists in Pahalgam region. Located at an elevation of 2408 meters above sea level, Aru is located at a distance of 11 Kms from Pahalgam city center. Aru attracts a large number of adventure lovers as the resort acts as the base camp for a large number of trekking expeditions extending up to the Kolahoi Glacier.

 

Sun Temple at Mattan:

Mattan located on the Srinagar Pahalgam highway is one of the most important religious and pilgrimage center of Kashmir region. Priests and monks from all over India assemble at Mattan to worship the Sun God. The temple at Mattan is one of the most beautiful monuments of Pahalgam region. Due to security threats, Mattan is guarded by armed paramilitary forces. The temple of Mattan is surrounded by fresh water stream on all sides making it one of the most picturesque locations of Pahalgam. Built by King Lalitaditya Muktapida between 699 and 739 AD, the Sun temple at Martand is believed to be popular during the rule of the Pandavas. The temple provides a bird’s eye view of the beautiful village of Mattan.

 

Chandanwari:

Chandanwari located at a distancs of 16 Kms from Pahalgam is one of the most well known geographical landmarks of Jammu and Kashmir. Famous as being the starting base camp of the annual Amarnath Yatra, Chandanwari is located at an elevation of 2923 meters above sea level. Chandanwari is also famous for its pristine natural beauty and snow capped mountains.

 

Tulian Lake:

Tulian Lake located at a distance of 16 Kms from Pahalgam city center is one of the most beautiful natural landmarks of the region. Betaab Valley:

Betaab Valley also known as the Hajan Valley is one of the most famous attractions of Pahalgam. The region gets its name from being the location for the popular Hindi movie 'Betaab'. Located at a distance of 7 Kms from Pahalgam city center, Betaab Valley is surrounded by wonderful line up of pine and oak trees making it one of the most picturesque locations in Kashmir. Lidderwat is a small village located at a distance of 22 Kms from Pahalgam city center.
