Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary:

This wildlife sanctuary is situated in Sukna, right at the foothills of the majestic Himalaya Mountains between two rivers- Mahananda and Teesta. You can hire a jeep to explore this vast forest land which is the abode of many rare wild animals. This thick foliage of dense bushes is famous for its barking bears, sambar tiger, Indian bison, wild peacocks and elephants. The sanctuary will be closed during the rainy season. It is also a favourite trekking spot offering mild to medium treks.

 

ISKCON Temple:

The ISKCON temple located in Siliguriis constructed in contemporary style and has many stunning idols depicting Lord Narasimha, Advaita Acharya, Lord Chaitanya among many others. The temple draws thousands of devotees each year.

 

Science City, Matigara:

This is a popular tourist spot situated in Matigara. The campus comprises of a museum, an Interpretation centre and a planetarium. Many scientific equipments and experiments are on display in the complex. The Nature Interpretation Centre here showcases a variety of flowers and plants. You are also able to observe the customs, traditions and dialect of North Bengal. This is an ideal place for an education tour.

 

Salugara Monastery:

The entire monastery is an architectural marvel, constructed in the Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. There is a 100 feet high stupa, located within the compound which has been blessed by the late Kalu Rinpoche. Away from the humdrums of modern life, the Salugara monastery is a perfect home for an ideal spiritual retreat and meditation.

 

North Bengal University:

Established in the year 1962, this is the major educational institution for the whole of North Bengal as well as the state of Sikkim. Covering an area of 330 acres, the University enrolls around 37,000 students in separate courses each year.

 

Dagapur Tea Gardens:

Acres of lush green plantations here offers refreshing morning and evening walks enjoying the landscape. It is interesting to gather first-hand knowledge of tea production from the locals here.

 

The Coronation Bridge at Sevoke:
