Day 1 ARRIVE COCHIN

Upon arrival at Cochin airport, our representative will meet you and will transfer you to a chauffeur driven vehicle. Later you are driven to the airport Cochin – “Queen of the Arabian Sea” has one of the finest natural harbors in the world. The ancient churches, palaces and synagogues in this city are famous. Overnight stay in Cochin.

Day 2 COCHIN – MUNNAR (160 Kms – 05 hrs approx)

Checkout from the hotel after breakfast and proceed for a scenic drive toMunnar.Enroute visit the beautiful Cheeyapara & Valara waterfalls. Enjoy the breathtaking and glorious waterfall cascade down the seven steps. Situated 1600 Meter above sea level at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundale, Munnar was once the summer resort of erstwhile British Government in South India and the best hill station with sprawling tea plantations in the state. Blessed with a rich variety of flora and fauna with the most well-known Neelakurinji (botanical name: Strobilanthus) flowering once in 12 years. Arrive at Munnar and check in to the resort. Evening proceed for a Shola Sunset trip (Timing 04:00 pm – 08:00 pm), a blend of jeep safari (4x4) through lush green cardamom forest and a medium difficult trek uphill to see a splendid sunset. We serve our guest our special coffee/tea and snacks during sunset. Overnight stay at Munnar.

Day 3 MUNNAR [KOLUKKUMALAI JEEP SAFARI, TEA TRAIL & ORTHODOX TEA FACTORY VISIT]

After an early breakfast drive through the Kannan Devan hills tea plantations and scenic beauty valleys, lock heart gap and spice plantations. After around 25 kilometers jeep ride through the normal road we will reach the jumpy, bumpy, rugged road to the World’s highest organic tea growing estate, situated in the eastern slope of western Ghats which makes the tea very special as well the view. On our way to this estate we will have very wide view of tea estates and ride will be through small narrow roads with few bend. Once we reach the top we will be able to see the Low land of Tamil Nadu, the second highest peak in South India. From there we will drive or walk little further to one of the oldest and highest orthodox tea factory in the world built around 1930’s. After visiting the tea factory we will have fresh tea picked, processed and made on the spot. Soon after we will start walk to a small ground where we will have our picnic lunch near the cliff with wonderful view around. Proceed to Munnar after lunch in the jeep itself or you can walk as much as you can. Enjoy the wonderful experience of the jeep drive through the tea plantations and the rugged road you can have a close look to the spectacular country side and the rural Tamil people who is working in the tea plantations with the warm smile, also we can visit one of the oldest tea factory. Guest can buy Kolukkumalai Tea from factory outlet which is not available in local market as they export Kolukkumalai tea rather than selling it locally. Overnight stay at Munnar.

Day 4 MUNNAR [CHINNAR WILDLIFE SANCTUARY]

After breakfast proceed for a wonderful jeep ride which will take you through Madupatty, Echo-Point & Kundala Dam. After Kundala Dam we will take a diversion through beautiful valley to Anamudi Shola National Park “the biggest Shola forest in the World” we will have around 8 kilometers drive through this park where we can spot most of the endemic birds in this region, Nilgiri languor, Malabar giant squirrel, as common and few other mammals including elephant, gaur, barking deer, Sambar deer, endemic butterfly’s, insects etc…, the most spectacular sighting in this park is a group of TREE FERN in the height of coconut trees which known as living fossil on the planet. Once we cross the national park we will reach a village called Kanthallore where we can see couple of tribal villages, terrace cultivations, paddy fields, sugarcane fields, sandal wood, Historical Hermitages “Muniyara” etc…, We will have our picnic lunch at any suitable place and will proceed to Chinnar Wildlife sanctuary, it will be 12 kilometers drive through the Sanctuary (State Highway Road only) to the main check point and border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Will go for about 2-3 hours trek to spot any wildlife and return back to Munnar through Marayoor Sandal Wood forest. Drive back to the hotel after the tour. Overnight stay at Munnar.

Day 5 MUNNAR [MEESAPULIMALAI]

Early morning drive up to Silent valley estate through green carpeted tea plantations of KDHP to the starting point situated about 1750 meters MSL. Start with the jeep able track (used by only forest department, the trek will pass through gum trees, pine plantations etc…, before we reach the grasslands we can see a very nice waterfalls (seasonal). Will reach the grassland and rest of trek will be on the ridges of majestic Western Ghats with the spectacular view around, we need to ascend and descend few hills before we summit the peak “2637 meters MSL” and from the peak we can see low land of Tamil Nadu, highest tea estate, Anayirangal Dam, etc…, the view will be spectacular, after a short break we will trek back to Silent Valley through grasslands, gum, pine tree plantations, etc…, with few ascending and descending…(we have to walk on the same track for a very short distance to the finishing point) Finish at silent valley and drive back to Munnar. Overnight stay at Munnar.

Day 6 MUNNAR [CHOKKARMUDI TREK]

After an early breakfast, drive to the starting point at towards (at) Pothamedu. Chokkarmudi trek will be starting with tea plantations, and leads to the ridge with grasslands, rocky terrain, etc…, The magnificent rocky mountain slopes on sides and the patches of shola forest all together will give a visual delight. The trek offers a beautiful view around including, Anaimudi “highest peak in South India” Idukki dam and the water reservoir of Idukki Dam which listed as one of the highest arch dams in Asia and third tallest dam in India, our view will be to vast tea estates, and the other slope with lots of spices plantations, villages, etc…, trek path of Chokkarmudi will be more indefinite, to reach the top point we need do a small moderate ascend and after that we will descend through the spices or tea plantations to finish our trek. After the tour drive back to the hotel. Overnight stay at Munnar.

Day 7 MUNNAR – THEKKADY (80 Kms – 02Hr 30Min)

After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Thekkady. Situated within the confines of the Western Ghats in the southern Indian state of Kerala, Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve is one of the most captivating wildlife parks in the world. The picturesque lake in the heart of the sanctuary was originally 26 sq km but now spans an area of 55 sq km. This perennial source of water, which initially led to the submersion of large tracts of forestland, slowly attracted wild animals. It eventually resulted in the adjoining forests being granted protection. Post-1975 Periyar finds itself in the enviable position of being a protected tiger reserve. The terrain ranges from hilly to flat grassland areas at the edges of the lakes. The vegetation is of moist deciduous type. Arrive at Thekkady and check in to the resort. Afternoon enjoy an Ayurveda rejuvenation massage. Overnight stay at Thekkady.

Day 8 THEKKADY

Start your day with a boat ride on Periyar Lake which encircles the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. If you are lucky, you can spot wild elephants, wild boar, deer, monkeys and migratory birds. After breakfast, proceed for spice plantation visit & en Elephant back safari. Overnight stay at Thekkady.

Day 9 THEKKADY (GAVI JUNGLE JEEP SAFARI)

Early morning proceed on the drive to the starting point for a jungle jeep safari to Gavi starting at 05.30 am. Spread across the beauty of Periyar Tiger Reserve, Gavi is a quiet, beautiful and pristine forest haven with a natural environment untouched by modernity and home to wildlife and birds. Tourist visiting Gavi can enjoy the sight of this wildlife in their natural habitat through vehicle safaris to take a glimpse of the endangered species like Nilgiri Tahr and Lion-tailed macaque if you are lucky, Kerala’s favorite elephants among others. Gavi is a home to over 260 species of birds including the great pied hornbill, woodpecker, and kingfishers. Gavi is a birdwatchers delight. Trekking trails to Pullumedu peak offers a panoramic view of the famed Sabarimala shrine. Enjoy a half an hour boating on the crystal clear Gavi reservoir and Kochupamba to take home memory of a lifetime that remains as clear as the Gavi lake. After the visit, you are picked up and transferred to the resort. Overnight stay at Thekkady.

Day 10 THEKKADY – BACKWATER CRUISE (140 Kms – 04hrs)

Check out from the resort and drive to Alleppey. Arrive at Alleppey and board the houseboat at noon for a backwater cruise and for an overnight stay. While cruising in these floating luxury-villas, let your eyes settle for the rare and the unusual - skim past Chinese fishing nets, bowed-down paddy fields, and local inhabitants engaged in making coir products, rustic homes, and ancient temples and swaying coconut groves. Overnight stay in houseboat.

Day 11 ALLEPPEY – COCHIN (60 Kms-01hr 30 mins)

Disembark from the houseboat at 0900hrs after a refreshing breakfast on board and drive to Cochin. Arrive at Cochin and proceed for a half day sightseeing tour of Cochin in the afternoon. Depart to Jew Street which is famous for the Jewish Synagogue and Jew Town. Visit St. Francis Church, first European church built in India in the early 16 th century and the famed Vasco Da Gama was buried in this courtyard. Thereafter visit the Dutch Palace in Mattanchery. (Jewish Synagogue - Open: 10.00 am –12.00pm, 3.00pm –5.00pm. Closed on Friday /Saturday & Jewish holidays) (Dutch Palace - Open: 10.00am – 5.00pm. Closed on Fridays) Free time in the Jew Street. It is fascinating & vibrant Narrow Street with many shops selling handicrafts, souvenirs, Antiques & Ethnic Garments. Later proceed to Fort Kochi and visit Famous Chinese fishing nets. Overnight stay at Cochin.

Day 12 COCHIN – DELHI

Check out from the resort and drive to Cochin airport to board AI511 to Delhi departing Cochin airport at 10:00 hrs feeling contented about a wonderful holiday you spent in the “God’s Own Country”. Our services end after dropping you at Cochin airport.
